This section offers download of detailed documentation
as well as tutorials for advanced users. Covered areas are the
architecture and design shader package for architectural and design
visualization, the production shader package for vfx production use and
the subsurface scattering package with details on skin rendering.
The versions described are up to date, as of
mental ray version 3.6. This includes high quality tonemapping
(mia_exposure_photographic), portal lights that improve rendering
quality and speed for interior renderings up to a factor 20
(mia_portal_light), self illuminating surfaces (mia_light_surface),
and improved lens simulation (mia_bokeh_lens). mia_material_x supports
rendering of multiple buffers (render elements) in one run. The
production package includes 2.5 D motion blur (mip_motionblur),
selective rerendering of parts of a scene (mip_render_subset), handling
of mirror and gray ball (mip_mirror_ball, mip_gray_ball) and last but
not least an advanced matte shadow system that also supports final
gather and reflections (mip_matteshadow).
The shaders are available with mental ray version 3.6,
contained in architectural.dll/so, production.dll/so and subsurface.dll/so.
