Design, write and edit documentation intended for software developers who use RealityServer, a development and runtime platform for web-based applications and services which contain interactive 3D components. RealityServer customer documentation provides conceptual information, programming examples, and detailed API descriptions. |

Collaborate with software engineers who write example applications for customer documentation. |
| |
Coordinate the timely publication of customer documentation in collaboration with the responsible Product Manager and with external service providers such as the graphics artist. |
| |
Additional tasks may include: Developing/editing white papers and customer documentation for other products developed by mental images, supporting the development of marketing deliverables, developing e-learning materials. |
| |
At least three years experience developing technical user documentation for software professionals. |
| |
Strong content creation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts and procedures clearly. |
| |
Experience in collaborating with research-oriented software developers. |
| |
Experience with topic-based writing. |
| |
Experience developing e-learning deliverables a plus. |
| |
Relevant university degree or comparable qualification. |
| |
Tools: Languages such as LaTeX, DocBook, DITA, and XSL; Build tools such as make and Ant; IDEs such as Eclipse; Editors such as Emacs or vi; Repositories such as CVS and SVN. |

Technology: An understanding of object-oriented programming concepts. Familiarity with C++ and JavaScript; a basic understanding of web-based client-server architectures and distributed computing; an understanding of 3D graphics concepts. |
