mental images’ COO to Speak at 3D Collaboration and Interoperability 2008 Conference

Ludwig von Reiche to Discuss How Integrated 3D Visualization Technologies and Application Services Offer a New Approach to Collaborative Design, Review and Product

SAN FRANCISCO and BERLIN, May 13, 2008 – mental images®, a global leader in rendering software and other tools for animators, visual effects artists and other professionals who create highest-quality imagery and visualizations, today announced that Chief Operating Officer, Ludwig von Reiche, will present during the second annual 3D Collaboration and Interoperability Conference (www.3Dinterop.com), being held at the Denver Athletic Club in Denver, Colorado, May 15-16.

“There’s a perfect storm brewing in 3D collaboration. Experts in 3D visualization, like mental images, are delivering world-class tools that are helping users show real value to management, while platforms like 3D web services are enabling completely new user and licensing paradigms”, said David Prawel, Conference Chair and President of Longview Advisors. “The fact that mental images is welcomed and recognized at our fourth annual interoperability conference is a testament to the growing demand from the user community for clear visions into both technologies.”

Mr. von Reiche will discuss some of the problems inherent with the current approach to 3D Collaboration, then show how new technologies and 3D Web Services such as RealityServer® can offer a new approach and provide numerous benefits.

This presentation will provide an overview of how new integrated 3D visualization technologies and applications services can be used to streamline efficiencies in collaborative design, review, and production. Topics such as ideal system architecture, scalability and infrastructure will be covered. Part of the presentation will provide real-life scenarios of how new 3D Web Services can be integrated into an array of fields, ranging from Aeronautic and Automotive to Architectural Design.

Mr. von Reiche joined mental images in 2002 with 20 years of international management experience in the U.S. and Europe, including 13 years at IBM and two years as CEO of a software development and system integration group. As COO of mental images, his responsibilities include market development and sales to new customers and business partners.
