RealityServer® is the 3D web services software platform that is highly scalable to thousands of servers. It is ideal for creating and deploying 3D web services for interactive and collaborative 3D applications. The software allows for remote creation, manipulation and visualization of 3D content. No matter how large and complex.
Unlike client-based 3D solutions, RealityServer maintains and processes original content securely on the server – streaming images in response to the users' choices, allowing you to interact with even the largest of datasets from any remote location.
Supported 3D Content
RealityServer automatically loads 3D content in the following file formats:
- COLLADA
- .DWF
- .mi
- .OBJ
The RealityDesigner® plugin allows for conversion of 3D content created with the most popular digital content creation and CAD applications into RealityServer. The following applications are supported by RealityDesigner:

Operational Requirements
Professional software development skills are required for both the development and deployment of RealityServer applications. Knowledge and familiarity with manipulating 3D content and Web Service technologies is necessary.
While a 32-bit system with a CPU and 2 GB of memory is the minimum configuration for developing RealityServer applications, a recommended base configuration for development would be a quad-core 64-bit server including 2 GPUs and at least 8 GB of memory.
The exact specifications and quantity of the servers required heavily depend on the following factors:
- 3D scene size
- Concurrent users
- Rendering quality
- Image resolution
- Frame rate
